Pricing

Each project is unique as each client's needs are different. We are dedicated to reaching a reasonable price for our work based on the needs of the client. Some of the things that factor into the price are labor and the amount of time put into a project. Consideration must also be made not only for the cost of design, but of hosting if this is your first site. At this time we ask that you contact us to inquire about pricing for your particular project.

Other Expenses and Considerations

In case you are unaware, there are a few basic expenses you have to consider when maintaining a website; these are beside the cost of paying someone to create a website for you. These expenses relate to the domain name (like our www.jamsammich.net) and the actual server space that the files are kept on.

It's possible to purchase these together, but it is strongly advised against. In the event that you don't like the server company that's hosting your files (say the server goes down a lot), you'd want to move to a more reliable server. If you registered your domain name with the company you don't like, they have the ability to hold your domain name hostage, either forcing you to get a new name, or pay a high price to get it back. This is bad.

For us, we register our domain names at http://www.godaddy.com Domain names there cost about $9.99 per year, which is a really good price! We highly recommend GoDaddy.

Hosting prices can vary greatly. It depends a lot on what sort of services you're looking for and the companies themselves. It's good to look around and do some comparisons between companies as well as check customer reviews. Nothing speaks louder than customer experience. Most companies have monthly fees, although yearly fees are available, it may not be good to pay for a full year in case you are unsatisfied with their service.

Beware of servers that offer hosting for real cheap. As they say, you get what you pay for. If it's only a couple dollars a month, you might want to be careful. That being said, there's no reason why you should spend a lot a month. Somewhere around $10 a month is probably decent. There may also be a set-up fee added for when you first purchase the web space, but it's a one-time fee, and it shouldn't cost a lot.

Hosting at Hostgator.com is available for $9.95 a month, paid monthly. We can get you $9.94 off your first month with a coupon, so you'd only be paying $.01 to try out the service. (The coupon code is: iceishot )
